Društvo Disora recently hosted the Transnational Project Meeting (TPM) of the Active Brain Games for Seniors project, an initiative co-funded by the European Union’s Erasmus+ programme. The gathering brought project partners together to review milestones achieved so far and coordinate the next critical steps of implementation.
Shaping the Active Brain Games Manual
The core focus of the meeting was to monitor the development of project results and prepare for upcoming phases. Special attention was dedicated to finalizing the Active Brain Games Manual. This resource will feature a comprehensive collection of cognitive exercises, physical activities, and group games meticulously designed to support:
• Memory and attention
• Concentration and logical thinking
• Social interaction among older adults
Enhancing Game Design for Better Accessibility
A key highlight of the meeting was reviewing the feedback from testing and implementing crucial design upgrades to the physical games and board games. To ensure the games are fully accessible and user-friendly for seniors, several key improvements were made:
• Increased Font Size: The text on all playing cards was enlarged to ensure readability.
• Simplified Tasks: Instructions for the game board tasks were streamlined and simplified for clarity.
• Optimized Color Scheme: The color palette was enhanced to provide much better contrast and visibility for all instruction texts.
Next Steps: Testing and European Multiplier Events
Partners also mapped out the finalization of project materials and discussed upcoming dissemination strategies. To share these innovative resources widely, the partnership agreed on organizing Multiplier Events in all participating countries. These events will introduce the project results to healthcare professionals, local communities, and key stakeholders.
🌐 Going Digital: In addition to local events, a joint online multiplier event will be organized to connect stakeholders across Europe and promote the widespread adoption of these project outcomes.
Empowering Healthy Ageing
The Active Brain Games for Seniors project supports healthy and active ageing by developing innovative learning approaches that combine cognitive challenges, physical activity, and social engagement. By creating practical educational resources, the project contributes significantly to improving the quality of life for older adults while promoting lifelong learning.
The productive meeting in Maribor has further strengthened cooperation among the partners, laying a solid foundation for the successful completion of the project and the meaningful implementation of its results in local communities across Europe.
